The Manual Top Discharge Centrifuge is one of the most traditional and widely used solid–liquid separation machines in the process industry. Known for its simple design, rugged construction, and proven reliability, it is ideally suited for applications where manual handling of the filter cake is acceptable.

In these machines, the slurry is loaded into a rotating basket lined with a suitable filter medium. Under high centrifugal force, the liquid phase is discharged through the perforated basket, while the solid particles are retained inside. After the cycle, the solids are manually removed from the top, making it an economical and efficient solution for batch processing.
